In this paper,a new electromagnetic pulse (EMP) shielding material based on Ytype energy selective surface (ESS) was proposed. It had the feature of “low pass and high resistance” in the energy domain.The theory and the working mechanism of ESS was investigated.The relationship between the transmission efficiency and the electric field intensity was studied.The protection performance of ESS was verified through the modeling and simulation,and the influence of structure size on the protection performance was analyzed.A kind of doublelayer Ytype ESS was designed and simulated.Compared with the singlelayer structure, the doublelayer ESS had better EMP protection performance and maintained nice transmission efficiency of low power signals.
