The failure distribution and characteristic parameters of SAW devices are not definite with the variation of time, thus the reliability of device can not be predicted accurately under certain conditions. A life test platform for SAW filter (SAWF) has been designed and set up in this work. The life tests of the temperature step and power step of two type of SAWF have been carried out by using this life test platform. It has been found that the inflection point of frequency variation of SAWF occurred at about 145 ℃. When the temperature exceeded the inflection point of frequency variation, the insertion loss of SAWF became worse. It has also been found that the moderate and small power signals have no significant effects on the electric performance of SAWF.
