Abstract:The piezoelectret, also known as ferroelectrets, is a new kind of space charge electrets with piezoelectric effect. Such material not only exhibits piezoelectric activity comparable to piezoelectric ceramics, but also is with flexibility, low dielectric constant and low acoustic impedance. In this article, the fabrication of the acoustoelectric transducers based on polypropylene (PP) piezoelectret films is described first, and then their sensitivities in the audible frequency range are investigated by both voltage and charge amplifier circuits. The results show that the typical voltage sensitivity of the fabricated transducers is around 0.8 mV/Pa at 1 kHz, and the response curves are relatively flat in the range of 300 Hz~10 kHz.
