This paper introduced the design,testing and applications of micro acoustooptic Qswitch in laser system. The influences of various factors on the diffraction loss of the acoustooptic Qswitch was analyzed by the finite element method and a new design scheme for optimizing the acousticoptical Qswitched was proposed. The tellurium oxide (TeO2) crystal was selected as the photoelectric deflection material, and the micro acoustooptic Qswitch with a package size of 17.8 mm×6.8 mm×17.8 mm, operating wavelength of 1 064 nm and the light pulse rise time of 28.99 ns was fabricated by using the integrated circuit compatible process. The micro acoustooptic Qswitch has excellent performance, in which the volume has reduced to 40% of the original product and the diameter of the aperture was 0.8 mm. With stable operation over the full temperature range (-45~70 °C), the diffraction loss was maintained at 35% (±2%).
