Abstract:The P(VDFTrFE) piezoelectric fiber (polyvinylidene fluoride and trifluoroethylene copolymer) was prepared by using the method of nearfield electrostatic spinning and the effects of different processing parameters on the diameter and morphology of the fibers were studied. The results show that the processing parameters of nearfield electrostatic spinning play an important role in the morphology of fibers;especially the concentration of P(VDFTrFE) electric spinning solution has a significant influence on the formation of fibers. The insufficiency of volatilization rate in the process of droplets falling will result in fiber forming failure when the P(VDFTrFE) electric spinning solution concentration is lower than 12%.Within a suitable driving voltage range, the larger the applied voltage is,the finer the fiber diameter. Also, the faster the collector moves, the finer the diameter of the fiber. The diameter of P(VDFTrFE) fiber prepared by the nearfield electrostatic spinning is up to (0.7~12) μm.In addition, according to the piezoelectric properties of P(VDFTrFE) itself,a certain flexural deformation of the fiber is treated to test the polarization of the P(VDFTrFE) fibers prepared by the electric spinning process. The experimental results show that the P(VDFTrFE) fiber prepared in situ cannot show obvious piezoelectricity.
